St Neots Community Acupuncture Clinic

Acupuncture is for everyone. At the St Neots community acupuncture clinic at Brook House, we provide affordable acupuncture by treating several people at the same time while seated on chairs. Our clinic focuses on better mental health and wellbeing. Find out more below and book your appointment today.

What is a multi-chair clinic?

A multi-chair clinic is where several people are treated at the same time whilst seated. Acupuncture points on the head and face, arms and hands, and legs and feet are chosen so that you remain fully clothed.

We use fine needles and most people don't feel them being inserted. You might feel a mild tingle or a dull ache when the needles are adjusted, however your acupuncturist will ensure this is comfortable for you. Patients are often surprised at how relaxing an acupuncture treatment can feel.

Indeed this is our aim of our multi-chair clinic- a place to unwind, address stress and focus on wellbeing for better mental health. Treatments take place in a calm and relaxing space in the Pearl Room at Brook House in St Neots.

Each session lasts between 30 minutes for follow-up appointments and 45 minutes for new patient appointments. During your initial appointment, you will complete a consultation with your acupuncturist. This is to find out about your reason for seeking treatment, your medical history and suitability for treatment. Subsequent treatments will include a follow-up questionnaire to gauge your response to the previous treatment.

Please note that consultations take place in the multi-chair clinic where others may be present. If there is anything private which you would like to discuss prior to your appointment, please feel welcome to contact us via phone or email.

The Good Mood Clinic

For Better Wellbeing

Our clinic is for all things mood related. Acupuncture is fantastic at improving wellbeing. Most patients find acupuncture treatments suprisingly relaxing. Treatment aids restful sleep and reduces chronic stress.

The evidence base for acupuncture and depression is promising. Acupuncture has been shown to be effective for treating depression. A high quality trial comparing acupuncture alongside usual care, counselling alongside usual care and usual care alone (antidepressants) found a significant reduction in symptoms. This was seen both in the short term at 3 months and longterm at 12 months. The participants of this study were people with recorruing depressionm, having experienced 4 or more episodes in their lives. You can find the trial here: Acupuncture and Counselling for Depression in Primary Care: A Randomised Controlled Trial
